The Strait was shut again after Iranian Naval officials accused Israel of launching a strike against Lebanon.
Israel has killed more than 1,530 people in Lebanon, including more than 100 women and 130 children, in the attacks.
The ten-point plan Tehran proposed for lasting peace mentioned that the US would allow Iran to control the Strait of Hormuz.
Other explosions were reported at Sirri Island this morning, which is closer to the Strait of Hormuz.
